Jennifer started in Gymnastics at age 5 and
competed in Gymnastics in Texas from age 7 up to age 12.
Jennifer started teaching gymnastics at the YMCA at age 15.
She has taught all levels of Gymnastics and Acrobatics for
over 20 years. This included teaching and coaching full time
as the Preschool Director and Girls and Boys Team Coach for
Kidsport for 4 years. Jennifer has been with COPA for over
10 years now teaching all ages of Acrobatics from “Mommy and
Me” to Coaching the Centre Spirit cheer team for the past 5
years. Jennifer also offers private lessons for all ages and
skill levels.
Jennifer attended several training clinics over the years
and has also attended USA Gymnastics Congress in Nashville
where she went to teaching clinics and learned from Olympic
coaches such as Bela Karolyi and Steve Nunno. She was able
to watch Olympic gymnasts such as Shannon Miller and Domique
Dawes train for National Competitions. Jennifer took courses
in Safety and acquired USAG Safety Certification. Jennifer
also took courses in Preschool Fundamentals from Patti
Komara who is known nationally and internationally for her
seminars in USAG.
Jennifer started working with Cheerleaders teaching High
School students and squads the tumbling skills they needed
and now coaches COPA’s Allstar Cheer team, “Centre Spirit
Allstars”. This is Centre Spirit’s 6th competition season.
She has had a very rewarding experience with the cheer team
and a whole new area of competition. “The best part of the
cheer team is that we have fun and it is awesome to see the
children’s accomplishments in not only what they learn but
the self confidence and teamwork that they gain. It is
amazing to see the girls go out in front of over a thousand
parents and fans and show their best”.
Jennifer has two daughters Ashley and Isley, age 6, who
are on the Centre Spirit Allstars as well as a very
supportive husband, Michael who has been seen at COPA, Cheer
Competitions and helping out with Recital!
