Competitive Teams

Students at the Centre have an opportunity to dance in competitions groups.

• The Centre Stars Dance Company - tap, jazz, and lyrical in 5 levels
• The Centre Stompers - clogging on 3 levels
• The Centre Spirit - cheer and tumbling on 2 levels

Although competition dance requires a strong commitment and is certainly not for everyone, we are happy to provide the opportunity for those who wish to pursue dance on this level. Our approach to competitions is that they should provide a positive experience for students, giving them an occasion to perform and be critiqued; to learn from both that assessment and watching others. Also, to enjoy themselves and use the opportunity to get to know classmates, families and other dancers, while developing relationships and have experiences that make “dance” a very special part of their lives.
